CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 29, 2025) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University Softball team hosted Union Commonweath University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Lady Bears recorded a sweep over the Bulldogs, 5-4 and 4-3. TMU rises to an overall record of 22-10, 13-5 AAC.Â
GAME ONEÂ
WIN 5-4
Game one action began with a two run homer to left field by Rachel Morgan in the second inning. The Bulldogs took the lead in the fourth forcing TMU to work from behind. A single by Rebecca Graham tied up the game as TMU aimed to push ahead. A final double to cf by Gipson, followed by a scoring run on a passed ball ultimately allowed the Lady Bears to take game one (5-4).
GAME TWOÂ
WIN 4-3
TMU was once again first on the board with two sacrifice flies by Gipson and Isabelle Sullivan. A reach on an error by Emme Souter gave TMU space to add the third run to the board. The bulldogs attempted to come back in the fifth, tying up the game, but momentum was short lived as a final RBI single by Tristan Brady ultimately sealed the win in game two, 4-3.

TMU will host Tennessee Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 2 for an AAC series match-up. Game one set for 2:00 p.m.
