GAINESVILLE, Ga. (March 25, 2025) - On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University softball team traveled to face RV Brenau University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Lady Bears suffered to heartbreaking losses to the Golden Tigers 10-8 and 8-7. TMU falls to a record of 20-10, 11-5 AAC.

GAME ONE LOSS
TMU 8 - BU 10
In game one BU was first on the board forcing a response from the Lady Bears. A two RBI single by Emme Souter allowed to runs to score as TMU took a close lead (2-1). Two hits by the opposing team in the second change the lead once more as the Lady Bears fell behind, 2-4. A big third and fifth inning saw the Lady Bears record five more runs, featuring a homerun by Cassie Boatright and a triple by Grace Folds (7-4). Both teams continued to battle as the Golden Tigers took the lead once more in the bottom of the fifth (7-9). A final RBI single by Hailey Cronic in the sixth attempted to change the outcome of the game but was ultimately unable to pull out the win, falling to a final score, 8-10.
LEADERS
Souter led the way with two RBIs, while Boatright tallied one RBI and two runs. Cronic, Folds, Kyndall Gipson, Rebecca Graham and Mackenzie Heim were all featured recording one RBI apiece.
GAME TWO LOSS
TMU 7 - BU 8
In game two, the Golden Tigers were quick to make their mark on the scoreboard with five runs. An RBI double by Boatright in second, finally put TMU on the board as the Lady Bears worked from behind. In the fifth and sixth inning, TMU recorded six runs to decrease the margin by one point, featuring a sacrifice fly an RBI single by Isabelle Sullivan, a single by Cronic, and a two RBI double by Souter (7-8). The Lady Bears gave it their all, eager to take game two, but ultimately could not change the outcome of the game, 7-8.
LEADERS
Souter led the way for TMU going 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs. Boatright followed going 2-3 with one RBI and one run, while Sullivan recorded three RBIs.

The Lady Bears will host Union College on Saturday, March 29 for an AAC DH match-up inside the TMU Softball Complex. Game one set for 1:00 p.m.
