CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 15, 2025) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University softball team hosted Bryan College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference double header match-up where the Lady Bears split against the Lions winning game one 8-6 and losing game two 2-4. TMU rises to an overall record of 16-8, 7-3 AAC.

GAME ONEÂ

The Lions opened the game with a run in the first. The Lady Bears responded in the third and fourth with back-to-back homeruns by Emme Souter adding six runs to the board. Kyndall Gipson also recorded a homerun in the fourth keeping the momentum going to increase the lead 7-1. Late runs by the opposing team closed the gap by five. A final sacrifice fly by Ashley Fitts proved capable of scoring Rachel Morgan to close out the game with a final score of 8-6.
LEADERS
Souter led the way for the Lady Bears recording six RBIs and two homeruns. Gipson followed going 3-4 at the plate, recording a homerun. Mackenzie Hiem was seen going 2-3 at the plate with one run.

In game two, TMU was first on the board with a sacrifice fly by Cassie Boatright, allowing Emme Souter to score. Bryan kept their bats alive scoring throughout the game. In the seventh, Isabelle Sullivan doubled to right field and brought Rebecca Graham home to attempt a late comeback but ultimately fell short in game suffering a loss, 2-4.Â
LEADERS
Gipson led the way in game two going 2-3 at the plate. Sullivan and Boatright were featured recording one RBI a piece, while Rebecca Graham drew two walks.Â

The Lady Bears will Travel to Milligan University on March 18 for an AAC matchup. Game one set for 2:00 p.m.
