LAURINBURG, N.C. (February 8, 2025)-On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up against St. Andrews University where the the Bears proved victorious with a final score of 87-73. TMU rises to a record of 11-12, 8-8 AAC. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
SAU was first on the board but it wasn't long before the Bears reaponded with a three pointer by EJ Smith. Made shots by Myles McCrary, Jadon Yeh extended the Bears lead as TMU worked to remain ahead. SAU attempted to close the gap but a good jump shot by Shawn Walker increased the Bears lead to 12 points. TMU kept their momentum strong with good three pointers from RJ Bryant and Yeh. SAU attempted to fight back and close the gap but good jump shots by McCrary and Walker left the Knights little room for improvement, closing the Bears strong first half with a score of 50-28. The Bears kept the wide margin into the second half with layups by McCrary, and Raul Arias-Ortega. A late run by SAU closed the gap to 14 points but ultimately could not hold off a win for the Bears, 87-73. 

LEADERS
McCrary led the way producing an outstanding performance with a double-double, recording 30 points and 10 rebounds, while recording four assists. Yeh followed closely behind with his own double-double, featuring 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

The Bears will be back in action at home on Saturday, February 15, as TMU hosts Milligan University for an AAC matchup inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena.Tip-off is set for 4:00pm
