CLEVELAND, Ga. (November 8, 2025) — On Saturday, the (RV) Truett McConnell University wrestling team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Montreat College, where the Bears battled to a hard-earned 29–17 victory against the Cavaliers.
The Bears found their rhythm early as
Stanley Lal opened the night with a gritty 1–0 decision in the 133-weight class to put TMU on the board.
Caleb Benton followed with a strong 7–3 decision in the 141-weight class, while
Chase Bond extended the lead after a 9–4 decision victory at 157.
Momentum continued to swing in TMU's favor as
Christian Anderson recorded a dominant first-period fall (1:45) at 174, followed by
Tyler Crow, who earned an 11–4 decision at 184.
Spencer Fields showcased control at 197 with a technical fall (16–0) in the second period, before
Phillip Terrell sealed the win for the Bears with a second-period fall (3:34) in the heavyweight bout.
Up next, the Bears are set to return to the mat on Saturday, November 15 as they compete in the King University Open in Bristol, Tenn.
