CLEVELAND, Ga. (November 4, 2025) – On Monday, two members of Truett McConnell University's soccer programs were recognized with Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. Senior
Marisol Esparza was named the AAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, while sophomore goalkeeper
Euan Brindley earned AAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Â
Esparza played a pivotal role in the Lady Bears' quarterfinal win over Montreat College on Saturday, helping lead the back line and anchoring a defense that allowed no shots on goal and just three total attempts from the Cavaliers. Her leadership and control of the game's tempo proved instrumental in helping TMU advance to the semifinal round of the AAC Tournament. This is Esparza's first weekly honor of the season.Â

On the men's side, Brindley had an outstanding weekend in goal, tallying nine saves in the quarterfinal round of the AAC Tournament against Columbia College.
