Women's soccer crowned 2025 AAC Regular Season Champions, punch ticket to NAIA nationals for eighth consecutive season

CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 27, 2025) - The No. 11 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team has been announced as the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions for the fourth consecutive year after finishing the regular season with a conference record of 13-0. TMU has earned their spot as the No. 1 seed in the AAC Tournament, along with punching their eighth straight ticket to the NAIA National Championships.

"I'm really proud of the team," said Head Coach David MacDowell. "We graduated a very special group of seniors last year and it left a lot of questions on how we would do this year, but I have been amazed by how well this team has done this season. They bonded early and I have been so impressed with how much they bought into our team culture. They have showed not only their quality, but their resilience and grit as well as desire to constantly improve."

TMU concluded the conference regular season on Saturday, October 25, with a 4-0 win over Spartanburg Methodist College, extending their win streak to 14. The Lady Bears have recorded 12 shutout victories this season and currently hold their highest NAIA Top 25 ranking in program history at No. 11. Over the past seven seasons, TMU has consistently proven to be a powerhouse in both conference and national play, compiling an impressive overall record of 134-23-8, including a dominant 100-2-3 mark in AAC competition.

"Even after Saturday's game the message from the girls was clear—they want to keep going!"

The No. 1 seed TMU will open postseason play at home on Saturday, November 1, hosting the winner of No. 8 Montreat and No. 9 Spartanburg Methodist in the quarterfinal round at the TMU Soccer Complex. Kick-off time to be determined.
