BLUEFIELD, Va. (October 18, 2025) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team dominated Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bluefield University (Va.) on the road, earning a commanding 10–0 victory. The Bears improve to 10-4-1 overall and 8-2-1 in AAC play.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears wasted no time taking control as Jovica Lazarević opened scoring in the 13th minute. Lazarevic struck again in the 49th minute off an assist from Marcos Martinez, before Hudson Reynolds made it 3–0 in the 53rd minute. Lazarević completed his hat trick just minutes later in the 57th minute, again assisted by Martinez.
The offensive push continued as Reynolds netted his second goal in the 62nd minute on an assist from Nick Jeising. In the 66th minute, Thomas Hill extended the lead with help from Carlos Ruiz and Josh Oliver, followed seconds later by a goal from Noa Wiegand, assisted by Pablo Farrona.
In the 70th minute, Nico Rudolph found the back of the net with assists from Martinez and Wiegand, while Toby Berry added his name to the scoresheet in the 86th minute with an assist from Hill. Sonke Hartmann capped off the offensive explosion with TMU's tenth goal in the 89th minute. Final score 10-0
LEADERS
Lazarevic led the way with three goals. Hudson Reynolds followed recording two goals on the day. Thomas Hill, Noa Wiegand, Nico Rudolph, Toby Berry, and Sonke Hartmann each tallied one goal a piece. Marcos Martinez led the assist column with three, while Nick Jeising, Carlos Ruiz, Josh Oliver, and Pablo Farrona each added one. TMU's defense was impenetrable, limiting Bluefield to only three total shots, with only one on goal.
