(January 29, 2025)- On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team hosted Kentucky Christian University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears recorded a dominating performance, 73-62. TMU rises to an overall record of 10-11, 7-8 AAC.Â

PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first quarter, TMU was first on the board with a good jump shot by
Alexis Brewster. The knights quickly responded with a good three-pointer of their own, eager to keep the match-up even. Both teams continued to battle with KCU taking the early lead as both teams entered the second quarter with a score of 7-18. In the second quarter, TMU proved to be a tough competitor scoring 27 points, featuring three made three-point shots by
Brinkley Kate Reed, and layups by Brewster and
Alissa Winters (34-30).

The Lady Bears continued to carry their momentum into the third quarter as a three-pointer by Winters and a layup by Brewster kept TMU ahead. A good free throw paired with a made layup by
Ava Queen increase the scoring margin to 15 points as the Lady Bears entered the final quarter with a large lead (59-44). In the fourth quarter TMU proved top dog, putting the match-up away early with a final good three-pointer by
Destinee Lovejoy. A last chance effort by the Knights attempted to change the fate of the game but could not take away from a Lady Bears win, 73-62.

LEADERS
Reed led the way for the Lady Bears recording 22 points, while going 4-6 at the three point arch and 6-6 at the free throw line. Brewster followed with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Winters tallied 11 points. Queen was featured recording eight rebounds, while
Madison Aguilera had four assists.
