CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 7, 2024) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Kentucky Christian University for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener, where the Bears outshot the Knights 30-0 to record a 6-0 shut-out win. TMU rises to an overall record of 3-0-1, 1-0 AAC, while KCU falls to a record of 0-3-1, 0-2.

In the first half the Bears started off hot scoring their first goal in the second minute of regulation when a corner kick by
Jez Walker-Paterson found its place in the back of the net (1-0). TMU continued to set the pace of the match-up when a blocked header shot by
Jovica Lazarevic in the fifth minute put
Jose Ventura in position to score the second goal of the game (2-0). The Bears continued to attack offensively, taking every chance made available, when an opening in the ninth minute gave
Oscar Brennan space to score another goal for TMU (3-0). TMU scored two more goals by Lazarevic (Pablo Farrono) and
Roman Reynolds (Ventura) in the first half, creating a wide gap between the two teams as they entered the half up by five (5-0). The Bears scored their final goal of the evening during the 69
th minute by
Pedro Arroyo, assisted by Farrona, proving capable of besting KCU 6-0 to record TMU's first AAC win of the season.Â

Ventura led the way for the Bears recording one goal, one assist, and taking five shots. Farrona followed with two assists, while Lazarevic had one goal and one assist. Walker-Paterson, Brennan, Reynolds, and Arroyo were featured recording one goal apiece.Â
