CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 11, 2024)—On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted No. 4 Milligan University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Bears gave it their all against the Buffaloes, forcing a draw in the final minutes of regulation, 2-2. TMU rises to an overall record of 3-0-2, 1-0-1 AAC, while MU rises to a record of 2-0-2, 0-0-1 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears started off strong in the first half controlling the game as Jovica Lazarevic took two shots at the goal. TMU continued to use their momentum to push forward when a corner kick by Oscar Brennan in the 11th minute, found a perfect path to Marco Mandelka to score the first goal of the game (1-0). The Bears stayed sharp for the reminder of the half, holding the Buffaloes to no goals, 1-0.
In the second half, MU fought back against the Bears tying up the match in the 53rd minute of regulation (1-1). The Buffaloes continued to retaliate against the Bears scoring their final goal in the 73rd minute (1-2). TMU did not lose heart, banding together to comeback from MU's strong second half, when a smart move by Mandelka in the final minutes of regulation, sent the ball to the box proving capable of connecting to a header by Lazarevic, ultimately finding the back of the net to tie up the match, 2-2.
LEADERS
Mandelka led the way for the Bears with one goal and one assist. Lazarevic followed closely behind with one goal, while Brennan tallied one assist. Keeper Euan Brindley was featured recording four saves on the evening.

TMU will hit the road to Athens, Tenn. on Saturday, September 14 as they travel to face Tennessee Wesleyan University in an AAC match-up. Kick off set for 2:30 p.m.
