CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 3, 2024) - The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Bob Jones University on Tuesday evening, inside the TMU Soccer Complex. The Bears hit the field hot as they recorded a total of 29 shots, compared to the Bruins 12, and secured the shut-out victory with score of 3-0.

TMU wasted no time as two shots from Pablo Farrona and Jovica Lazarevic, followed by a corner kick from Oscar Brennan that set the stage for the first goal of the game off the foot of Nils Waltemode (1-0). The Bears stayed resilient with seven more shots at goal, ending the half up by two after a shot by Roman Reynolds deflected off the keeper and offered Lazarevic the opportunity the home team needed to push ahead (2-0).
The second half saw TMU with the same speed as they tallied a total of 17 shots, while staying sharp on defense. Shots from Jez Walker-Paterson, Farrona and Brennan gave TMU the final spark they needed to score goal number three of the day after a ball from Lazarevic found the foot of Farrona to make the score 3-0.
LEADERS
Lazerevic led the way for the Bears with one goal and one assist, while Waltemode and Farrona had one goal apiece. Brennan recorded five shots, three on goal, followed by Joseph Ventura who had four shots and Walker-Paterson who had three shots, two on goal. Keeper Euan Brindley tallied five saves on the day, along with allowing zero goals.
