CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 18, 2024) – The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Columbia College, on Wednesday, where the Bears rallied together with minutes remaining to secure their second straight conference victory with a score of 2-1. TMU currently sits at an overall record of 5-0-2, 3-0-1 AAC.

Both teams proved evenly matched for the entire first half. Columbia made their move first with two corner kicks and two shots. Â Shots from

Jovica Lazarevic and a corner kick from
Jez Walker-Paterson saw TMU gain speed. Two final shots from
Marco Mandelka and
Hendrik Metje paved the way for a hot start in the second half, as Farrona put the home team on the board in the 48
th minute (1-0). The Bears stayed sharp on defense as they held off the Fighting Koalas until the 80
th minute when the visiting team snagged a goal of their own (1-1). With the game on the line, Farrona set the stage for a ball shot by
Roman Reynolds that found the back of the net in the 82
nd minute of play, ultimately resulting in a win for the home team with a score of 2-1.
LEADERS
Farrona led the way for TMU with one goal, one assist and four shots. Reynolds recorded one goal and tallied three shots on goal, while
Max Farris took five shots, three on goal and keeper
Euan Brindley had two saves on the day.
