COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 14, 2024) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up against No. 23 Columbia International University, where the Lady Bears fell to the Rams 3-0. TMU falls to an overall record of 2-9, 0-2 AAC, while CIU rises to a record of 12-1, 2-0 AAC.

Set one saw the Rams first on the board. TMU quickly found their rhythm with a kill by
Faith Clarkson. Both teams battled back and forth, with CIU retaining the lead, when a four-point rally by the Rams created a wide gap. The Lady Bears continued to work hard as kills by Clarkson attempted to change the game but was ultimately short lived as a final five-point rally by CIU sealed the rams win in set one, 14-25. Set two saw the Lady Bears first on the board as errors by the home team gave TMU an early advantage. Kills by

Elizabeth Franklin attempted to keep the Lady Bears on top but ultimately fell short as a final six-point rally by CIU gave the Rams set two, 10-25. In set three, TMU fought back against the Rams with service aces by
Deomi Valmus and
Nadia Lulinski, paired with kills by
Claudia Yates, Roberts and Clarkson. A final kill by Roberts attempted to keep TMU in the game but was ultimately not enough to change the result of the match, falling in set three 25-16.

LEADERS
Clarkson led the way for TMU with seven kills. Roberts followed with five kills and two block assists, while Franklin tallied one solo block, and Williams tallied two block assists.Â

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Tuesday, September 17, as they host AAC opponent Montreat College for their home opener inside the Harris Athletic Complex. Match time set for 6:30 p.m.
