CLEVELAND, Ga. (AUGUST 14, 2024) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team is set to begin their 2024 season on Thursday, where they will compete at the Keiser University Invitational on Thursday, August 15- Saturday, August 17.  The Lady Bears are set to take on Florida College and Keiser University on day one of the tournament.

"I'm very excited for this season," said Head Coach Joe Herrera. "We are a work in progress but are committed to getting one percent better every day. Our goal is to build a strong team both on and off the court."

The Lady Bears are excited to welcome back fifth year outside hitter Katie Williams, who broke three single season records in the 2023 season, along with being named to the 2023 Appalachian Athletic All-Conference First-Team. Jordan Roberts, Rachel Kessler and Deomi Valmus will be returning for their fifth year on the court, while Elizabeth Franklin and Macy Boggs enter their senior season as key leaders for TMU. The Lady Bears roster will feature a total of 15 newcomers.

In the 2023 season, TMU finished with a winning record of 22-12, 14-6 AAC, which was the most match wins in program history. The Lady Bears look to improve that record under the guidance of newly appointed Head Coach Joe Herrera. Herrera began coaching at Truett McConnell in the 2024 TMU Women's Beach Volleyball Season, where he led the Lady Bears to the best finish since the program began in 2022.

Thursday's first match is set for 12:00 p.m., with match two set for 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, TMU will compete in their final two matches of the invite at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The Lady Bears home opener will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m., where TMU is set to face AAC foe Reinhardt University.
