CLEVELAND, Ga. (April 15, 2024) - The Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent St. Andrews University on Monday, where the Lady Bears closed out their regular season with a big 17-7 victory over the Knights. TMU finishes up the regular season with an overall record of 3-11, 1-5 AAC.

Marlo McBrayer struck first in the 12th minute of the first period with a shot that found the back of the net, followed by a sharp shooting Katie Smith (2-0). Shelby Nail added two of her own, while the Knights worked to cut at the lead but it was no match with a final goal from Smith to enter the second quarter up 5-1. A Nail and Smith combo sparked the second quarter, but SAU collected a goal of their own. A quick turnaround for TMU saw a goal for Kaitlyn Morgenroth and Mackenzie Tyler to add two, while the third quarter proved in favor of the Lady Bears as they score three more goals (12-4). The final quarter saw Nail strike first, followed by a goal from SAU. Nail retaliated with her sixth goal of the day, while Morgenroth and McBrayer proved the final move by the Lady Bears as the game was secured with a score of 17-7.
LEADERS
Smith led the way with six goals, 11 shots and a single assist. Nail recorded six goals of her own with 12 shots, while McBrayer had two goals and two assists and Morgenroth had two goals.
