WEST POINT, Ga. (April 9, 2024) – The Truett McConnell University baseball team traveled to compete in a non-conference match-up against RV Point University on Tuesday, where the Bears fell after a tough battle against the Skyhawks with a final score of 10-4.

The home team struck in the first inning with two runs, but TMU quickly responded with a run of their own in the top of the second after an execution at the plate by

Tanner Griffith from third base (1-2). Point collected two more runs in the bottom of the inning (1-4), while the visiting team put the game within one run of being even after a
Mikal Mascarello RBI and
Caleb Williams scored on a balk (3-4). The Bears final effort in stealing the lead occurred in the seventh inning when an RBI single scored Williams, but it was ultimately not enough as the Skyhawks secured the win with a score of 4-10.

Mascarello went 3 for 5 at the plate, followed by Williams who went 2 for 4 with two runs and Griffith who went 2 for 4 with one run and one walk.
