CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 16, 2024) - The Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team hosted University of Health Science and Pharmacy on Saturday, where the Lady Bears battled all of regulation, ultimately falling by slim margins to a final score of 11-8.

UHSP was first to strike with two goals in the first quarter and two goals in the start of the second. Shelby Nail worked to put TMU on the board in the eighth minute of the second quarter with a goal of her own, followed by a Marlo McBrayer shot that found the back of the net and a final goal by Nail to start the half (3-5). The third quarter saw the Lady Bears gain speed with a Nail too hot to handle shot at the net, followed by a Mackenzie Tyler goal to make the score 5-7 in the third quarter. Katie Smith kept the momentum rolling at the start of the fourth with a shot that found the back of the net, but UHSP stayed hot with four goals to widen the gap (6-11). Final efforts from Nail saw the home teams score increase by two, ultimately not enough as UHSP ran away with the win (8-11).
LEADERS
Nail led the way for TMU with five goals in the day, along with tallying 11 shots, nine on goal. McBrayer recorded a single goal, eight shots and one assist, while Smith and Tyler individually had one goal, followed by goalie Sally Marcum who had seven saves on the day.
