CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 14, 2024) – On Thursday, the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team hosted St. Thomas University for a non-conference match-up, where the Lady Bears fell to the sharp shooting Bobcats, 18-9. TMU falls to an overall record of 1-6, while STU rises to a record of 3-3.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first quarter, the Bobcats put up seven goals, forcing the Lady Bears to respond with a goal by
Marlo McBrayer (7-1). TMU continued to fight, putting up three goals in the second quarter by
Shelby Nail, McBrayer, and
Katie Smith, while STU added four (11-4). In the third quarter, TMU worked hard on defense, holding the visiting team to three goals, while McBrayer, Smith, and
Kaitlyn Morgenroth all found the back of the net (14-7). The final quarter saw a final effort by the Lady Bears as goals by Nail and McBrayer attempted to recover TMU from a loss, but was ultimately not enough, falling to a final score of 18-9.

LEADERS
McBrayer led the way for the Lady Bears, recording four goals, taking seven shots, four on goal, while tallying seven ground balls and nine draw-controls. Nail and Smith followed with two goals and two ground balls a piece, while Morgenroth had one goal. Goalie
Sally Marcum was featured recording 17 saves on the evening, respectfully.
