FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. (February 21, 2024) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team traveled to compete in a non-conference match-up against Emmanuel University, where the Lady Bears fell to the sharp shooting Lions, 19-2. TMU falls to an overall record of 1-3.

The first quarter, the Lions quickly took charge, scoring eight goals over the Lady Bears. EU continued to increase their lead with six more goals in the second quarter, forcing TMU to work hard from behind at the half, 0-14. TMU worked hard on defense in the third quarter, holding the Lions to four goals as the Lady Bears attempted to recover from the marginal deficit (0-18). The final quarter saw a change in energy for TMU as the Lady Bears attempted to change the outcome of the game. TMU final found their first goal of the game in the fifth minute of fourth quarter regulation, with a goal by
Maddie Donnelly, assisted by
Aisley Whipple. The Lady Bears final goal of the evening was scored in the last minute of regulation by
Katie Smith, ultimately unable to bridge the gap, falling to a final score of 19-2.

LEADERS
Smith led the way for the Lady Bears with one goal and four shots all on goal, while Donnelly had one goal.
Marlo McBrayer was seen recording two shots, while
Mackenzie Tyler and
Kaitlyn Morgenroth tallied one shot a piece. Goalkeeper
Sally Marcum was seen recording 14 saves on the evening.
