MARIETTA, Ga. (November 7, 2024) - On Thursday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to compete against Life University, where the Bears suffered a tough loss, 96-83. TMU falls to an overall record of 1-1.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first half, LU was first to take the lead over the Bears. Two consecutive layups by Raul Arias-Ortega, quickly put TMU in the game as both teams battled for a lead. Layups by EJ Smith paired with good three-pointers by Arias-Ortega and Cooper Rubio, continued to push the Bears forward as TMU fought to earn the lead. An 11 point run by the home team ultimately ended first half regulation as the Bears trailed 35-47.
A good jump shot by Myles McCrary begin second half play for the Bears, eager to work from behind. TMU continued to give it their all as a good three-pointer by Jadon Yeh kept the Bears in the game. A final three-pointer by Smith paired with two good free throws by Yeh attempted to bridge the early gap created by the Running Eagles, but ultimately was not enough as the Bears fell to a final score of 96-83.
LEADERS
McCrary led the way for the Bears with 19 points and six rebounds. Arias-Ortega followed with 18 points and six assists, while Smith tallied 17 points and Yeh had eight rebounds.

The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, November 9 as TMU hosts LaGrange College for a non-conference match-up inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. Tip off set for 4:00 p.m.
