MILLIGAN, Tenn. (November 16, 2024) - On Saturday the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to face Milligan University for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener, where the Lady Bears suffered a loss, 88-53. TMU falls to an overall record of 1-4, 0-1 AAC.

In the first quarter, MU found luck first putting the Buffaloes on the board. TMU finally found their place in the game with a layup by Brinkley Kate Reed. Free throws by Alexis Brewster and Alissa Winters continued to add to the Lady Bears score as TMU entered the second quarter trailing by 18, 27-9. The second quarter saw a good three-pointer by Kayleigh Kelley first on the board, followed by a layup by Brewster. TMU continued work from behind eager to bridge the early gap created by MU as a layup by Madison Aguilera sent both teams into halftime, 49-28. In the third and fourth quarter, the Lady Bears continued to work together eager to change the outcome of the game, featuring layups by Brewster and Aguilera. Final shots by Ava Queen and Jordynn Webster have the Lady Bears hope, but ultimately could not disrupt the Buffaloes from earning the win, 88-53.
LEADERS
Brewster led the way with 16 points and four rebounds. Aguilera followed with 10 points and two assists, going 5-5 in field goals, while Reed tallied eight points, going 3-4 at the free throw line.

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Wednesday, November 20, as they travel to face AAC opponent Columbia International University. Tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
