CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 5, 2024) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bluefield University, where the Bears worked together to record shut-out win against the Rams, 2-0. TMU is currently sitting at an overall record of 7-3-2, 5-2-1 AAC.Â

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears began play in the first half with a shot on goal by
Jez Walker-Paterson in the first two minutes. TMU took two more shots eager to make their mark on the board when in the 16
th minute
Oscar Brennan found an opening to put the ball in the back of the net, assisted by
Max Farris (1-0). In the second half, eager to increase their lead, TMU took every opportunity available.
Jose Ventura scored the Bears final goal of the day in the 59
th minute, when a foul by the Rams gave him space to put a free kick into the top of the net (2-0). BU gave it all they had in the final minutes of regulation eager overturn the game, but determination and focus by the home team could not be swayed as TMU recorded the shut-out win, 2-0.

LEADERS
Ventura led the way for the Bears with three shots and one goal. Brennan followed with two shots and one goal, while Farris recorded one assist.
Marco Mandelka was featured recording three defensive saves on the evening.
