TMU suffers loss on the road

ATHENS, Tenn. (October 16, 2024)—On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bryan College, where the Bears suffered a loss, 2-0. TMU falls to a record of 9-4-2, 7-3-1 AAC. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
First half play began with the Lions quickly making a mark on the board with a goal in the first minute of regulation (0-1). Three consecutive corner kick opportunities by Jez Walker-Paterson and Oscar Brennan attempted to give TMU the chance to score, but ultimately proved unsuccessful as the Bears entered the half trailing by one. In the second half, the Lions managed to add another goal to the board in the 65th minute (0-2). A last chance effort by the Bears, featuring shots by Max Farris, Nils Waltemode, James Aspinall, Josep Moral and Roman Reynolds, attempted to change the fate of the game, ultimately falling to a final score of 2-0. 

LEADERS
Farris led the way for the Bears with six shots, four on goal. Hendrik Metje, Waltemode and Brennan followed taking three shots a piece. 

UP NEXT
TMU will be back on action on the road, Wednesday, October 23 as the Bears travel to face the University of Pikeville in an AAC match-up. Kick-off set for 3:30 p.m.
