COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 12, 2024) – On Saturday, the No. 22 women's soccer team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Columbia International University, where the Lady Bears took down the Rams with a final score of 4-1. TMU is currently sitting at an overall record of 11-1-2, 10-0-1 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Lady Bears outshot the home team in the first half 13-0, sparked by
Erin Ward putting TMU on the board in the ninth minute (1-0).
Ashley Johnson followed the action in the 27
th minute of play with a goal of her own, while
Megan Darden took a chance on a ball from
Peyton Brooks which found the back of the net in the 38
th minute. The second half saw the Rams work to decrease the Lady Bears lead, but
Lindsey Fowler kept TMU ahead by three in the 58
th minute, assisted by
Annabel Trauschke (4-1).
LEADERS
Johnson led the way with one goal and seven shots, five on goal, followed by Darden, Fowler and Ward who had one goal apiece. Brooks and Trauschke individually had one assist, while
Eliska Dvorakova had seven shots, five on goal.
