DAYTON, Tenn. (October 16, 2024) - The No. 22 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hit the road to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bryan College on Wednesday, where the Lady Bears collected a sharp win with a score of 5-0. TMU is currently sitting at an overall record of 12-1-2, 11-0-1 AAC, along with maintaining a nine game win streak.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Erin Ward sparked the game for the Lady Bears with a goal in the sixth minute of play, assisted by Ruffa Meger. Ashley Johnson followed the action in the 16th minute after she found the back of the net off a ball from Megan Darden. TMU maintained the lead into the second half, where Johnson broke away once again to score her second goal of the day, assisted by Lindsey Fowler. The 64th minute proved in favor of Eliska Dvorakova as she scored her first goal of the game after a perfect set up from Peyton Brooks, while Johnson closed out the game for the Lady Bears with a hat trick of three goals, assisted by Amayia Lukie.
LEADERS
Johnson led the way with a hat trick and six shots, five on goal, while Dvorakova had one goal and three shots on goal. Ward had on goal, followed by Fowler, Meger, Lukie and Darden who individually had one assist.
