No. 21 Women's soccer brings the heat against SAU

CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 30, 2023) – The No. 21 Truett McConnell University held nothing back on Saturday as they hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent St. Andrews University. The Lady bears asserted their dominance through the full 90 minutes of play as TMU took a total of 39 shots, 29 on goal, resulting in a final score of 13-0. TMU improves to an overall record of 7-2-2 and a perfect conference record of 7-0.
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Kayla Boggess sparked the momentum for the Lady Bears in the first five minutes of regulation, as a ball from Amayia Lukie set Boggess up for success and put TMU on the board (1-0). It was only up form there as Boggess recorded her second goal of the day in the seventh minute off a ball from Julia Bosch, while Bosch immediately followed with a goal of her own (3-0). TMU stayed sharp on defense, allowing the Knights zero chances at goal in the first half, followed by two goals from Lukie and a second goal by Bosch (6-0). Eliska Dvorakova proved a tough opponent for the Knights as she assisted three consecutive goals, along with recorded two goals of her own. TMU went on to score two final goals in the first half off the feet of Sarah Currey and Berta Lloys, followed by two final goals in the second half individually from Ashley Johnson and Chrissy Mitchell to make the score 13-0.
 
LEADERS
Dvorakova led the way for the Lady Bears with two goals, three assists and five shots on goal, while Julia Bosch recorded two goals of her own and two assists. Lukie was seen recording two goals, one assist and four shots, three on goal, followed by Boggess who had two goals and Currey who had two goals.
 
UP NEXT
TMU will host AAC foe (RV) Reinhardt University on Wednesday, October 4, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m., inside the TMU Soccer Complex.
