CLEVEVAND, Ga. (March 29, 2023) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team hosted Georgetown College for their final home Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears fell to a tough loss of 21-3 to the Tigers. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY 

In the first quarter, Georgetown was first on the board forcing the Lady Bears to work hard from behind (6-0). The second quarter saw a goal by Kaitlyn Morgenroth to put the Lady Bears on the board heading as the Lady Bears entered the second half (12-1). In the third quarter, eager to increase the gap, Georgetown scored eight more goals (20-1). In the final quarter, the Lady Bears worked hard on defense, holding Georgetown to one goal and scoring two of their own by Shelby Nail and Marlo McBrayer (21-3). The Lady Bears played with heart until the very end, but it wasn't enough as TMU fell to a final score of 21-3. 

LEADERS 

Nail led the way with one goal, taking seven shots, four on goal, six ground balls and one assist. McBrayer followed with one goal, two shots on goal and six ground balls. Morgenroth had one goal, taking one shot on goal, while Madison Franklin took four shots, with three on goal and three ground balls. 

UP NEXT 

The Lady Bears will head to Williamsburg, Ky. on Saturday, April 1 to face off against No. 5 University of Cumberlands. Game time set for 12:00 p.m.
