WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (April 1, 2023) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team traveled to the University of the Cumberlands to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears fell to a final score of 26-1 to the Patriots.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first quarter, the Patriots were first on the board, but the Lady Bears responded with a goal by Gracie Wilber (11-1). In the second quarter, the Patriots put up five more goals, forcing the Lady Bears to work hard from behind (16-1).
In the third quarter, eager to increase the scoring deficit, the Patriots scored five more goals (21-1). The final quarter saw the Lady Bears working hard on defense as they held the Patriots to five goals, but it ultimately wasn't enough to secure the win, resulting in a final score of 26-1.
LEADERS
Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Gracie Wilber who had one goal, taking one shot on goal. Mackenzie Tyler had seven ground balls, while Madison Wyatt, Katie Smith and Shelby Nail had one ground ball each.
