CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 7, 2023) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team traveled to face Benedict College for a non-conference match-up, where the Bears late response was not enough (19-25, 22-25, 26-24, 18-25). TMU falls to a record of 0-2, while the Tigers rise to 2-0.

The Tigers took a quick advantage over TMU, but a three-point rally paired with kills from Nathan Hill and Kyle Gregory brought the Bears within two. Both teams were neck-and-neck when a late three-point rally from the Tigers sent them ahead. A late kill from Jackson Adams was TMU's final chance in the first set (19-25). In set two, an early five-point rally saw kills from Bosman to put TMU ahead early. The Tigers responded with a rally of their own to tie the set. A service ace from Hill along with kills from Adams and Gregory kept TMU ahead. A late five-point rally from the Tigers left the Bears to fall, 22-25.

In the third set, both teams were evenly matched from the start when kills from Gregory and Wensky Saintilmond sent the Bears ahead. A three-point rally saw kills from Hill and Gregory to create a deficit. A late three-point rally saw three consecutive kills from Gregory paired with a final kill from Bosman to secure a 26-24 victory. In the final set, the Tigers attacked early with a four-point rally, quickly followed by a three-point rally. TMU responded with kills from Jakob Lee and Gregory to chip at the deficit. The Tigers were relentlessly and a final kill from Bosman was not enough, leaving TMU to fall (18-25).
LEADERS
Gregory led the way with 18 kills and one block, while Adams tallied six kills and six digs. Bosman recorded five kills with eight digs, while Saintilmond tallied 32 assists.
