Bears stumble in home matchup with Webber

CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 10, 2023) – On Friday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team hosted Webber International University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up inside the Harris Athletic Complex, where the Bears battled through three tough sets (11-25, 22-25, 13-25). TMU falls to a record of 1-5, 0-2 AAC, while the Warriors rise to 3-1, 3-0 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Warriors were hot from the start with a three-point rally, but a kill from Nathan Hill put TMU on the board. The Warriors responded with a nine-point run, but a service ace from Jackson Adams cut at the deficit. A late rally from the Bears saw a kill from Kyle Gregory, but ultimately not enough to turn the tide (11-25). In the second set, TMU had an early four-point rally with a service ace from Jakob Lee. Kills from Nathan Hill and Kyle Gregory kept TMU ahead, but the Warriors responded with a late three-point run to steal the lead. Both teams were neck-and-neck until a kill from Adams showed hope for TMU, but Warriors remained victorious (22-25). In the final set, a kill from Alex Bosman sparked the momentum early, followed by a kill from Gregory. Both teams were evenly matched when the Warriors broke loose with a five-point rally. TMU quickly responded with kills from Adams and Gregory, but ultimately once again not enough as the Bears fell 13-25.
