CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 27, 2023) – On Friday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Reinhardt University for their final regular season match-up, where the game resulted in a gut-wrenching draw after a second half battle against the Eagles, 1-1. TMU finishes the regular season with an overall record of 9-2-4, 7-2-4 AAC, while RU sits at a record of 9-3-5, 7-3-2 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first half saw RU first to move with a shot saved by keeper
Aleksa Lukic. TMU quickly responded with a blocked shot from
Max Farris, as the Bears attempted to catch an early lead. Three chances by
Lucan Yates, featuring two shots and a header attempt, gave TMU the chance to secure an advantage over RU, but was ultimately unsuccessful as both teams headed into the half, 0-0.

In the second half, both teams were eager to pull ahead, when in the 78
th minute a good ball by
Will Fraser-Gray found
Oscar Brennan in perfect position to put a header into the goal, putting the Bears up, 1-0. TMU continued to work hard on defense, holding RU scoreless, when a last chance effort in the 88
th minute by the visiting team, allowed the Eagles to even the score, resulting in a hard-fought draw, 1-1.

LEADERS
Brennan led the way for the Bears with one goal. Fraser-Gray followed with one assist and two shots, while Yates recorded three shots.
Caleb Diaz tallied two shots and one defensive save, while
Jez Walker-Paterson,
Jose Ventura and
Max Farris recorded one shot apiece. Keeper Lukic recorded three saves on the evening.
