WALESKA, Ga. (October 17, 2023) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to compete against Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University, where the Lady Bears put up a fight, but ultimately fell to a final score of 3-0 (19-25, 18-25, 7-25). TMU falls to an overall record of 19-9, 12-4 AAC, while RU rises to a record of 18-5, 11-4 AAC.
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first set, RU was first on the board. The Lady Bears quickly fought back with kills by Ranavia Neal, Katie Williams and Rylee Simpson, keeping the set evenly matched. A late five-point rally be the Eagles pushed RU ahead as the Lady Bears attempted to recover. TMU continued to trail closely behind, when back-to-back kills by Sonya Silecky and Neal gave the Lady Bears hope, but wasn't enough to secure the win, 19-25. In the second set, TMU was first to attack with a kill by Neal. Kills from Williams and Katie Williamson gave the Lady Bears an early lead as they fought to take the win, but two late four-point rallies by RU stole the chance from TMU, falling 18-25.
 
A seven-point rally by the Eagles began set three, forcing the Lady Bears to work hard from behind. A solo block paired with a kill, both by Jordan Roberts, gave TMU hope at a comeback, but was ultimately short lived as the Lady Bears fell in set three, 7-25.
 
LEADERS
Williams led the way with eight kills and a block assists, followed by Neal with six kills and a block assists. Roberts recorded five kills and one solo block, while Williamson had four kills. Simpson recorded 26 assists on the evening, while Silecky had 15 digs.

The Lady bears will be back in action at home on Tuesday, October 24, as they take on St. Andrews University and Faulkner University in a tri-match. Match times set for 2:00 p.m. and 6 p.m.
