CLEVELAND, Ga. (Sept. 3, 2022)- The No. 19 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted the University of Mobile inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex, where they flew past the Rams with a 3-1 victory. The Lady Bears improve to a record of 1-1-1, while the Rams fall to 1-2-1.
PLAY BY PLAY
In the first period, the Lady Bears were aggressive on offensive with one corner kick and two shots, one on goal within the first ten minutes. In the 22nd minute, Nadiia Ivanchenko scored the first goal for TMU, with an assist from Brianna Hernandez (1-0). In less than a minute, Moriah Logue scored the second goal of the afternoon for the Lady Bears with an assist from Kristin Beasley (2-0). The Rams fought hard and scored their lone goal shortly after, in the 27th minute (2-1). The Lady Bears closed out the first period with a shot on goal, corner kick and a blocked shot.
In the second period, TMU continued to outshoot their opponents 24-5. In the 68th minute, Ruffa Meger scored the final goal of the afternoon (3-1). The Rams worked hard and took a couple more shots, but the Lady Bears proved triumphant with a 3-1 victory.
LEADERS
Ivanchenko led the way with eight shots, three on goal, and one goal, followed by Eliska Dvorakova with eight shots, three on goal. Meger and Logue trailed with one shot on goal, one shot and one goal. Hernandez and Beasley both had two shots, one on goal apiece. Goalie Emelie Taylor had three goal saves on the day.
