COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 27, 2022) -Â The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Columbia College, where the Lady Bears won in dominating fashion (25-17, 25-22, 25-17). TMU improves to a record of 9-10, 4-3 AAC, while the Koalas fall to 0-12, 0-7 AAC.

In the first set, the Koalas were first to strike, but the Lady Bears were quick on their feet. A six-point rally with kills from Jordan Roberts, Katie Williams, and Katie Williamson changed the pace of the game. TMU followed with an eight-point rally featuring kills from Williamson, Leah Bowen, and Ranavia Neal to create a clear deficit. The Koalas tried to work their way back, but a kill from Williams secured a 25-17 victory. In the second set, a service ace from Emma Boland sparked the momentum. The Koalas worked hard with a five-point rally, but TMU mustered up a five-point rally of their own to maintain the lead. The Koalas were resilient, using a seven-point rally to surpass TMU, but a late four-point rally with kills from Roberts and Williams snagged a 25-22 win.
In the final set, both teams were neck-and-neck until back-to-back kills from Williams created a margin for the Lady Bears. A late six-point rally from TMU featured kills from Bowen and Neal, along with two service aces from Rachel Kessler to seal a 25-17 sweep over the Koalas.
LEADERS
Williams led the way with 13 kills, followed by Neal with 12 of her own. Boland and Deomi Valmus recorded nine digs on the evening, with Silecky contributing seven. Boland tallied 18 assists, followed by Brooklynn Brock with 15 on the evening.

The Lady Bears remain on the road and head to Grayson, Kentucky on Friday, September 30 for an AAC match-up against Kentucky Christian University. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
