Lady Bears suffer first AAC loss to Bryan

CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 16, 2022) - The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted Bryan College inside the Harris Athletic Complex, where the Lady Bears collect their first Appalachian Athletic Conference loss in a hard-fought battle (21-25, 21-25, 23-25). TMU falls to a record of 7-7, 2-1 AAC, while the Lions rise to 10-2, 4-0 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY

In set one, the Lions took an early lead with a five-point rally. Kills from Katie Williams and Sonya Silecky kept the Lady Bears close. A four-point rally with kills from Silecky and two kills from Neal gave the Lady Bears their first advantage of the evening. Both teams were neck-and-neck, until a kill from the Lions left the Lady Bears behind (21-25). In set two, TMU was first to score with kills from Neal and Williams. Both teams were within margins, until a five-point rally with kills from Silecky and Neal gave the Lady Bears a late lead. The Lions worked diligently with their own rally to steal set two from TMU (21-25).

In the final set, the Lady Bears worked ahead early, but the Lions did not settle. The Lady Bears continued to have kills from Silecky and Jordan Roberts to keep on the Lions heels. A late four-point rally consisted of kills from Roberts and Neal to tie the set, but was ultimately not enough and TMU fell 23-25.
