MONTREAT, N.C. (September 10, 2022)- The No. 20 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team traveled to face Montreat College for the start of Appalachian Athletic Conference play, where the Lady Bears secured a late 2-0 victory. TMU rises to a record of 2-2-1, 1-0 AAC, while the Cavaliers fall to 0-2, 0-1 AAC.

In the first period, the Lady Bears had shots on goal from
Annabel Kesinger,
Eliska Dvorakova,
Julia Ruiz and
Kendra Wilbert to threaten the Cavaliers early on. The Cavaliers only produced two shots, one on goal compared to the Lady Bears eight shots, four on goal.
In the second period, Dvorakova, assisted by
Nadiia Ivanchenko, scored the first goal of the day off a free kick in the 49
th minute (1-0). The Lady Bears continued to take aggressive shots, proving to be successful for the final goal of the day from
Kayla Boggess in the 83
rd minute (2-0).
LEADERS
Dvorakova led the way with four shots, two on goal, and one goal, while Boggess tallied one shot, one on goal, and one goal.
Sydney League followed with three shots and one on goal.

The Lady Bears continue AAC play with a roadtrip to West Point, Ga. to face Point University on Wednesday, September 14. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
