CLEVELAND, Ga. (August 27, 2022)- The No. 19 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team faced Georgia Gwinnett College inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex. The Lady Bears ended in a draw with the Grizzlies, where TMU was seen outshooting their opponent 15-13.
PLAY BY PLAY
In the first half, both teams were neck and neck on offense and defense. The Grizzlies were hot out of the gates with three shots and two corner kicks, while the Lady Bears responded with shots of their own. In the 36th minute, a Grizzly header came close to taking the lead, followed by a crossbar shot from Nadiia Ivanchenko, but the game remained scoreless at the half.
In period two, both teams remained resilient, featuring the Grizzlies putting the Lady Bears defense under pressure. In the 69th minute, a foul on TMU gave the Grizzlies a dangerous opportunity, but a stellar block from Lindsey Fowler kept the lead unknown. After a 90 minute battle from both teams, the hard-fought battle ended in a draw (0-0).
LEADERS
Dvorakova led with seven shots, with three on goal. Brianna Hernandez followed with two shots, with one on goal. Lauren Bergevine, Sydney League, Kayla Boggess and Jette Schulz each tallied a shot of their own.

The Lady Bears remain inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex on Saturday, September 3, where they will face the University of Mobile. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
