CLEVELAND, Ga. (August 18, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team is set to begin their 2022 season Friday, where they will travel to face the University of the Cumberland's and Bethel University in the first day of the Vette City Classic in Bowling Green, Ky.

"We are excited to get our season started this weekend in Bowling Green, Ky. We'll be facing some good competition at the Vette City Classic," Head Coach Mark Corbin said. "We have a good core group of returners with some freshman and transfer additions that should prove to be pivotal assets to our program this year."

Senior Ranavia Neal and junior Sonya Silecky are amongst the group of core returners for the Lady Bears. Neal looks to build upon her total career kills, while Silecky looks to build upon her career digs. Senior setter Brooklynn Brock is back and healthy after recovering from her season ending injury in 2021.

"Our preseason has gone well, and the girls are starting to click with each other, on and off the court. We look forward to getting on the court this weekend so we can continue to improve as a team while pushing each other to be the best we can be. It's time to bear down and put into action what we have been practicing."

Friday's matches are set to begin at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with the first home opener of the season Tuesday, August 23, for a tri-match against College of Coastal Georgia and Toccoa Falls College, inside the Harris Athletic Complex.
