WEST POINT, Ga. (March 5, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University lacrosse team traveled on Saturday to face Point University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup. The lady Bears put up a fight, but ultimately suffered a tough loss with a final score of 9-8.

The first quarter saw Point put up four points, but clutch goals by
Holly Foster and
Hope Frady kept the Lady Bears close, trailing by two going into the second quarter (2-4). Point added three more in the second quarter, but TMU stayed resilient with Frady and
Sophie Beach shots to add to the score going into the half (4-7).

In the third quarter, a
Kaitlyn Morgenroth and a Foster goal helped bridge the gap, capable of holding the Skyhawks (6-8). In the fourth and final quarter, goals by Frady and Foster tied the game, but a last-minute goal by Point stole the lead, resulting in a final score of 8-9+.

LEADERS
Frady led the way with three goals, along with 12 shots and eight ground balls. Foster had three goals with seven shots and four ground balls. Beach and Morgenroth had one goal apiece, while Beach tallied six shots and Morgenroth tallied three shots. Goalie
Madison Franklin had 12 saves on the day.
