TOCCOA, Ga. (March 22, 2022) - On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University baseball team left Toccoa Falls College trailing from the very first pitch, capable of securing a dominating non-conference win with a score of 19-7. The Bears improved to a record of 15-11, while the Screaming Eagles fell 8-23. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY

A Brady Wilson single to center field scored Tanner Griffith to put TMU on the board (1-0). The third inning saw the Bears continue to add to their lead with an RBI single from Isaak Mullanack, followed by An Ethan Roberts RBI and Mullanack scoring on an error by the pitcher (4-0). The fourth and fifth inning proved even more successful for TMU as they added six runs, while the sixth inning saw Griffith with a grand slam over the center field fence for four RBIs. A sacrifice fly ball by Roberts made the score 15-4, while a Jake Edwards grand slam over the left field fence secured the non-conference win with a final score of 19-7. 

LEADERS

Griffith led the way going 4-4 at the plate with five RBIs and five runs, followed by Mullanack who went 3-4 with three RBIs and three runs. Wilson went 3-3 with three RBIs, Sam Reed went 3-4 with two runs and Mikal Mascarello went 2-5 with two runs. Roberts tallied three RBIs on the day, while pitcher Andrew Fry made his first appearance of the season and secured the win after earning four strikeouts through three innings.
