CLEVELAND , Ga. (Mar. 2, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team competed in their home and Appalachian Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday, where they bested conference opponent Brenau University in dominating fashion with a final score of 18-4.

The Lady Bears made the first move with a goal by Cameron Lee in the first three minutes of the first quarter(1-0). The Golden Tigers fought back, but good goals by Sophie Beach and Kaitlyn Morgenroth kept TMU in the lead 3-2. The second quarter set the pace for the rest of the game. Good offense paired with good defense allowed the Lady Bears to hold the Golden Tigers to a one goal quarter. Goals from Holly Foster, Hope Frady, Lee and Beach increased the gap to 11-3 heading into halftime.
The third quarter saw the Tigers scoreless as goalie Madison Franklin earned three saves. Many more goals by Frady, Foster and Beach in the third quarter increased the deficit to 17-3. A final goal in the fourth quarter by Frady secured the win for the Lady Bears with a final score of 18-4.
LEADERS
Frady led the way with seven goals and eight shots, seven on goal, while Beach totaled five goals with nine shots, eight on goal. Frady also had six ground balls and three assist. Foster also recorded three goals with five shots, four on goal. Lee recorded two goals with three shots, all on goal. Franklin recorded her first win of the season with 12 saves and five ground balls.
