PLAY BY PLAY

The Lady Bears went head-to-head with the Skyhawks, where Point was first on the board, but TMU followed up with a layup from Alysee Dobbs to tie it up. The Skyhawks took an early lead, where free throws from Camilla Callihan, a three-pointer from Re'Tavia Floyd, and another set of free throws from Callihan closed the gap. A three-pointer from Chloe Williams sent TMU into the second quarter trailing by five (20-15). In the second quarter, the Skyhawks continued to push forward where a layup from Dobbs, followed by a three-pointer from Floyd, and a fastbreak from Callihan recaptured the lead. It did not take the Skyhawks long to tally their points when six-consecutive points from Callihan sent TMU into the half, trailing 35-30.

In the third quarter, two consecutive layups from Dobbs brought the Lady Bears within one, when a shot from behind the three-point arc from Tia Shelton and a layup from Quan Holton closed the quarter (48-39). In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears worked quickly with a three-pointer from Sydnie Smith, and two shots in the paint from Callihan and Holton. Six consecutive points from Dobbs tied the game, but the Skyhawks propelled forward with two layups and free throws of their own. Two free throws from Floyd, followed by a free throw from Natalie Nixon gave the Lady Bears hope, but ultimately a free throw from the Skyhawks kept TMU behind (63-68).
