CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 22, 2022)- The Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference member Bluefield University for Senior Day, where the Lady Bears shut out the Rams 10-0. TMU rises to a record of 12-2-1, 11-0 AAC, while the Rams fall to 0-14, 0-10 AAC.
PLAY BY PLAY
In the first period, the Lady Bears attacked early with their first goal from Eliska Dvorakova, assisted by Sydney League in the second minute (1-0). In the fifth minute, Dvorakova scored goal number two, with an assist from Jette Schulz (2-0). In the 15th minute, Nadia Basto scored goal number three off a penalty kick (3-0). In the 30th minute, Basto scored her second goal of the day, assisted by Lindsey Fowler (4-0). In the 33rd minute, Ashley Johnson, assisted by Fowler, scored goal number five (5-0). In the 37th minute, Schulz scored goal six, followed by Kendra Wilbert, assisted by Fowler to close out the half (7-0).
In the second period, the Lady Bears continued to be aggressive by outshooting the Rams 23-1. In the 86th minute, Makenzie Hoyt, assisted by Megan Darden, scored the eighth goal of the day (8-0). In the 86th minute, Johnson scored goal number nine, quickly followed by the final goal of the day from Johnson, assisted by Kristin Beasley, to secure a 10-0 victory.
LEADERS
Johnson led the way with six shots, three on goal, and three goals, followed by Dvorakova with five shots, three on goal, and two goals. Basto recorded four shots, two on goal, and two goals. Fowler tallied three assists, followed by Darden, Schulz, Beasley, and League with one assist apiece.

The Lady Bears remain inside the TMU Soccer Complex on Wednesday, October 26 for a match against AAC foe Brenau University. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
