CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 22, 2022)- The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bluefield University, where the Bears outshot the Rams 32-17 for a 5-2 victory. TMU rises to a record of 8-5-3, 5-5-2 AAC, while the Rams fall to 6-7-0, 4-6 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears recorded their first goal of the game in the sixth minute from Will Fraser-Gray (1-0), which sparked the momentum for TMU's offense. In the 37^th minute, the Rams recorded their first goal of the day to make the score even (1-1). A quick turnaround in the 37^th minute saw a goal from Max Farris that gave the Bears an advantage going into the half (2-1).
 
In the second half, a foul in the box resulted in a successful penalty kick from Fraser-Gray, followed by a third goal from Fraser-Gray, assisted by Lucan Yates, in the 49^th minute to raise the score 4-1. The Bears final goal of the day was recorded off a beautiful shot in the 75^th minute from Nour Alamri, assisted by Oscar Brennan (5-1). A late attempt from the Rams decreased the deficit, but the Bears proved resilient as they ultimately secured a 5-2 over Bluefield.

LEADERS
Most notable, keeper Daniel Santema recorded seven saves on the day, while Fraser-Gray led the way with a hat trick of three goals, along with seven shots, five on goal. Alamri followed with eight shots, five on goal and one goal, while Yates and Brennan recorded an assist apiece.
