CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 14, 2022) -Â The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference member, Montreat College, where the Lady Bears swept the Cavaliers for their fourth consecutive win (25-15, 25-23, 25-18). TMU rises to 14-12, 8-5 AAC, while the Cavaliers fall to 7-12, 6-6 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first set, a kill from Jordan Roberts sparked the Lady Bears offense early. A five-point rally included kills from Ranavia Neal, Sonya Silecky, and Brooklynn Brock to capture an early lead. Another five-point rally with two kills from Neal and one from Leah Bowen created a large deficit. The Cavaliers retaliated with a six-point rally of their own, but two kills from Roberts propelled TMU forward. A kill from Brock gave the Lady Bears set one (25-15). In set two, the Cavaliers were first to strike. TMU responded with a seven-point rally with a service ace from Deomi Valmus to capture an early advantage. The Cavaliers did not back down, but a late five-point rally with two kills from Katie Williams and a kill from Neal shut them down. A late four-point rally threatened the Lady Bears, but a kill from Roberts resulted in victory for TMU (25-23).
In the final set, the Lady Bears worked ahead early with kills from Roberts and Bowen, followed by a service ace from Valmus. Both teams were neck-and-neck until a late five-point rally, with kills from Bowen and Roberts, sent TMU ahead. A kill from Williams secured a sweep over the Cavaliers (25-18).
LEADERS
Roberts led the way with 10 kills on the evening, followed by Williams with nine of her own. Silecky recorded 12 digs, followed by Valmus and Williams with 11 of their own. Brock tallied 29 assists on the evening.

The Lady Bears remain in the Harris Athletic Complex to host Bob Jones University and AAC opponent Milligan University for a tri-match on Saturday, October 15. Match times are set for 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
