WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (January 29, 2022) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team traveled to compete in the Seahawk Duals, hosted by Keiser University. The Bears secured a 25-13 victory over the Seahawks, along with competing in exhibition matches with Southeastern University and Montreat College.

Most notable, senior Ian James earned a first period pin in the 174-weight class, with a time of 1:19. Fellow senior Leonel Silvestre followed with a big major decision win at the 149-weight class (14-4), while junior Geowel Silvestre recorded a decision win at the 141-weight class (8-5). Junior Mitchell Thompson earned a hard-fought decision win of his own at the 165-weight class (2-1), followed by sophomore Hans Evatt who earned a 5-0 decision win at the 185-weight class.

Up next, the Bears return for their final home match of the season and senior day, inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena, on Saturday, Feb. 12, where they are set to face AAC foe, Bluefield University. Match time scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
