Although the Eagles claimed an early lead (0-3), Holly Foster found the back of the net 10 minutes into regulation to tie it up 5-5. Carter Culverhouse scored the go-ahead goal on a free position shot two minutes later (6-5), and it was up from there as TMU got out front by as much as three (9-7). Asbury went on to tie it up two minutes before halftime (9-9) but once again, Holly Foster scored another unassisted goal to give the Lady Bears an advantage at the half (10-9).

After the Lady Bears got ahead by three (14-11) with 11 minutes to go in regulation, the Eagles went on a 6-1 scoring frenzy to get back out front by two (15-17). Culverhouse scored first on a free position shot (16-17), then directly again after winning a draw (17-17), but it was Hope Foster's clutch free position goal with four seconds to go on the scoreboard that won it all (18-17).
