CLEVELAND, Ga. (Mar. 18, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team hosted Mid-South Conference opponent Webber International University inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena on Thursday evening. The Bears battled the Warriors but ultimately fell in three straight (25-12, 25-14, 25-16), which put TMU at 0-10, 0-10 MSC and WIU at 8-8, 6-5 MSC on the season. The Bears showed much improvement as they fell 25-7, 25-13, 25-9 last time they met earlier in March.Â

The Warriors opened up the match on a 4-0 run but TMU immediately responded with one of their own (4-4). However, WIU got hot getting out front by as much as 14 in route to win their first game of the night (12-25). The Warriors went on to get out front after an aggressive 5-0 run featuring three kills and two service aces, which allowed WIU enough momentum to win the second set (14-25). Game three was much like the rest of the match with both teams going back and forth until the Warriors scored six unanswered points and TMU was ultimately unable to fully recover as WIU clinched the sweep (25-16).

Wensky Saintilmond was credited 11 assists and had three digs, while
Kaleb Mitchell carried the offense tying his season high of six kills. Mitchell also led with two blocks and added three digs.
Brice Dollar tallied three kills, while
Ethan Conners led with seven digs and
Nathan Hill followed with five.

Up next, TMU will host Warner University on Saturday, Mar. 20, at 7:00 p.m., before hitting the road for the Mid-South Conference Crossover in Lebanon, Tennessee, Mar. 26 – Mar. 27.Â
