WEST POINT, Ga. (Mar. 12, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team traveled Point University on Friday evening for their first game of the spring season, which did not count towards their Appalachian Athletic Conference record. TMU battled the Skyhawks for 110 minutes (5-4-2, 5-3-1 AAC) to a 0-0 draw, which put them at 1-8-2, 1-8-1 AAC on the season. Last time they met, in the fall, the Bears fell 3-0.
"We were happy to put together a full team performance," Head Coach
Scott Borchers said. "The boys worked hard through the entire game. We were very happy to see the boys apply the principles we've been training and see them pay off with a solid result against a good AAC team."
Most notable, TMU's goalkeeper
David Windmiller had a stellar performance recording a total of 14 saves. The Skyhawks outshot the Bears 27-8 and earned eight corner kicks, in comparison to TMU's two.
Victor Clemente led the Bears with three shots, all on goal, while
Zayne Moore followed with two shots, one on goal.
Up next, the Bears will face Bob Jones University on the road on Friday, March 19.
